Turn 2 Foundation

During his rookie year in 1996, New York Yankees All-Star shortstop Derek Jeter established the Turn 2 Foundation to promote healthy lifestyles amongst youth. Turn 2 represents Derek's wish to enable young people to "turn to" his Foundation for guidance and the much needed help to avoid drugs and alcohol.

Special guest speaker, John Sitaras, instructed Brooklyn and Bronx children in the rigors of physical fitness and the rewards of pursuing your dream. A Brooklyn native himself, John was in a unique position to inspire through his personal story of triumph, resulting in the founding of his critically acclaimed fitness center in midtown Manhattan.

Participants were treated to a visit by a special guest in each borough. In the Bronx and Brooklyn, John Sitaras, world famous fitness professional and creator of the Sitaras Method, a new approach to physical fitness, told the participants of his inspiring life-story and led them through hands on fitness exercises emphasizing the importance of hard work and following your goals and dreams.
